We’re excited to share that an update is coming soon for our BetterMerge add-on for Google Sheets™ (and our web dashboard too!). We’re focused on making your first experience – and every experience – as smooth and straightforward as possible.
What’s Improving?
You might recall that when installing BetterMerge add-on, you (or your domain administrator) would grant initial permissions, and then you’d see another permission alert when you launched the add-on.
Good news – we’re streamlining this! To enhance your experience and align with Google’s guidelines for a simpler setup, BetterMerge will soon use a single permission step. When you install the add-on, or use it for the first time after this update, you’ll see just one clear screen for all the permissions needed for its core features.
This means once you approve these permissions, you can dive straight into using BetterMerge’s core functionalities without any further Google permission prompts from the add-on.
What This Means for You (A Quick, One-Time Step):
When this update rolls out, the next time you open the BetterMerge add-on in Google Sheets™, it will ask you to approve its permissions again. This is simply a quick, one-time confirmation to transition you to this improved, simpler system.
If you notice a few extra permissions listed this time, please don’t worry! These are the same permissions that were previously in that second step, now conveniently grouped into one. They’re all essential for BetterMerge to continue working effectively for you.
